Madison, Wis. — The Madison chapter of the National Organization for Women (NOW) will be announcing its endorsements for the upcoming spring general election this week. Board member for both chapters, Mara Jarvis, released the following statement.
“Our endorsement process begins at the request of a candidate’s campaign. The campaign completes a questionnaire on our key issue areas. In some cases, the candidate is interviewed at one of our monthly public meetings. Then, our endorsement panel which includes Heather Huber, Jess Jones and myself issue the decision based on this information and on member feedback.
We would also like to note that since announcing her race for city council in the 3rd district, our president, Lindsay Lemmer, has stepped back from her duties with Madison NOW and is not part of the endorsement process. She has remained neutral on the spring election.
If any candidates in the upcoming election are interested in receiving Madison NOW’s endorsement, we encourage them to complete our endorsement questionnaire.
We look forward to announcing the candidates we have decided to endorse so far this week.
